A very worn & tired set of Ikea drawers which are now looking very smart in the lounge instead of a bedroom. I lightly sanded the surface to key the B&Q pale grey furniture paint and painstakingly wallpapered the drawers. I coated it all with Polyvine varnish to make it more hard wearing and protect the surfaces from the cat. It took a while to match the pattern up but it does look fab
This was found on fb marketplace for free when my niece was fitting out her new build house on a tight budget. I stripped & painted it with B&Q pale grey furniture paint making full use of the tin & fixed wallpaper to the sides & inside. All surfaces coated with decorators varnish We added basket storage to complete the look
This table was kindly gifted. A very sturdy piece but a bit tired & looked a bit farmhouse which didn't match the contemporary kitchen & decor. To bring it bang on trend I sanded it completely, there was a thick layer of old wax that needed to be removed from the top, ready for the new the wax. I cut the curved sides off & rounded off the edges, then painted the base of the table & the chair frames black.
This was a great find for a few quid on fb marketplace. It was very tired looking but now looking fabulous and vibrant. I lightly sanded the frame, deeply sanded the top to remove old wax & grime. Painted the frame with the B&Q pale grey furniture paint... It did go a long way. Waxed the top and wallpapered the front surface. I love this paper. Surfaces protected with Polyvine varnish.
These two bar stools were bought from a bargain price from a local ex pub furniture warehouse. As you can see they had seen better days. A good clean & light sand, painted with black paint & recovered the seat pad with a stylish silver brocade fabric which was in a remnants bin from a local fabric shop... I love a recycle. Thes chairs now sit with the kitchen island above
This is my mirror that I bought from MFI many, many years ago. It was the first purchase I made for my first flat and has moved with me from house to house. I decided it was time to revamp it. Gone is the old, out of date mahogany and now looks very mediterranean with blue & green mosaic tiles on the frame. It's going to last for many more years to come and looks fab on my bedroom wall. I used the colours as inspiration for the colour scheme in the room.
Another bargain from ex pub furniture warehouse. It needed quite a bit of work as it had a few chunks of wood chipped off the edged which I filled and sanded. Sanded the whole chair down, painted with black & grey and reupholstered the seat pad. The fabric was another find from the remnants bin hard wearing PVC with the obligatory cat image 🐱. This chair is for my work room you can actually see an obligatory cat in the image 😁
Another bargain from fb marketplace. A very shabby cabinet in dark wood. The mirror was a real boon not needing to wallpaper the back and reflects the gold in the tropical design. After a good sanding down to remove the old varnish I painted this using the same emulsion as is on the walls & the feet in gold, then protected it with varnish.
